Midwife Program

Also in conjunction with Solidarity with South Sudan, SRF funds classes and instructors for the Midwife Program. SRF has one of the highest child mortality rates in the world. An unfortunate, graphic statistic for South Sudan is that a fifteen year-old girl has more chance of dying in child birth than of completing her secondary education. This program is sending qualified midwifes throughout the country. Pictured below is Sister Marie Theresa and midwifery students.

Answer the Cry of Saint Bakhita’s Orphans

60 percent of South Sudan’s refugees are orphaned children and many of these children suffer trauma from the frightening things they’ve seen. They face the dangers of kidnapping, trafficking, and deadly wild animal attacks. The reality is, they can’t survive alone for long.
